Executive Director, April Swain

My name is April Swain and I am the owner and Executive Director of I AM ME Development Center located in Windsor, NC. I am a proud mom of three teenagers and married to my wonderful husband for 15 years. I enjoy spending time with my family watching movies, playing games, singing and dancing. I have always had a passion for children and decided to find a way to serve my community. I obtained my B.S. in Early Childhood Education in 2013 and have been working as an educator since. I have worked as a lead teacher for head start, and currently lead Kindergarten teacher for Bertie County Schools. I am also a certified Level 2 Triple P Seminar provider and a Rootle PBS Ambassador. I enjoy working with children and helping to shape their future! Serving my community is my passion and I  believe this program will bridge the gap for many families and build confident, empowered scholars.
